Grace Monroe
| Grace is caught shoplifiting at the mall, and while her parents are talking to the security gaurd, the train appears and she decides to board it. |
Grace's parents didn't give her attention as a child, or let her live her life how she wanted. This resulted in her masking who she is, and being rude and rebelious. She was rude as a way to protect herself, and to hide her insecurities she projects them onto others, resulting in her being rude. She is rebelious(originially) to get attention from her parents, but now she is rebelious just because she can. She is a co-leader of the Apex, but she later stops the Apex and grows as a character/person. |

Simon Laurent
| Out of all the passengers, Simon has the least backstory wise. We don't know exactly how or why Simon boarded the train. |
As said, we are unsure why Simon boarded the train. On twitter, Owen Dennis claimed that he failed a spelling bee and ran away, but it is unconfirmed. It is implied that he has abandoment issues, most speculated because of a death/disaperence in his family. However, Simon doesn't learn and only uses more and more violence and eventually turns on Grace and turns the Apex on Grace. This results in them fighting, and Simon eventually dying, due to a Gohm, which is a soul sucking monster on the train. |
